Canon Virginia, Inc. is currently seeking qualified applicants for an open position as a Design Engineer at their Newport News, Va. facility. The successful candidate will: provide research and development support for prototype electronic and electromechanical systems; design, develop, assemble, and test prototype equipment; support analytical studies on engineering proposals to develop and/or design new and unique medical devices, etc., utilizing and applying engineering principles, research data, and proposed product specifications. Position requires a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5-8 years experience, preferably in manufacturing or R&D environment in the following areas: motion control, thermal analysis, cable/harness routing, chassis design, and sheet metal and/or plastic enclosure design. Fluent in 3D CAD Package such as SolidWorks or ProEngineer.
