2018 FIRST Chesapeake Robotics FTC Virginia Championship Scheduled
February 21, 2018

Hundreds of the best and brightest middle and high school students in Virginia and Maryland will meet at St. Christopher’s School to test their teamwork and ingenuity at the FIRST Tech Challenge Virginia State Championship Event. This event, on Saturday, February 24th, is free and open to the public.

WHAT: FIRST Tech Challenge Virginia State Championship Event Sponsored by ECPI University
WHEN: Saturday, February 24th, 7:00am – 5:00pm
WHERE: St. Christopher’s School (Bolling Field House) – 711 St. Christopher’s Rd. Richmond, VA 23226
WHO: The best and brightest middle and high school students from Virginia and Maryland pit their robots against the FIRST Relic Recovery Challenge for a spot at the FIRST Tech Challenge East Super Regional in April. The robots are coming! Winners will earn a chance to compete at the FIRST Tech Challenge East Super Regional in April. This year’s challenge, Relic Recovery, uses a playing field where teams strategize, form alliances, and demonstrate gracious professionalism while finding “treasures” and returning them to their rightful place in history. Team robots are required to work autonomously, as well as with drivers, to score points using rotating and stationary goals. A FIRST LEGO League Junior Expo is also scheduled to take place between 10am and noon in the Bolling Field House at St. Christopher’s. All are invited to come out and meet some of their youngest future technology leaders, cheer on their favorite FTC team, and learn more about FIRST programs. The event is free and open to the public.

ECPI University is the title sponsor for the FIRST Tech Challenge Virginia State Championship. Other major sponsors include Capital One, Dominion Energy, University of Virginia Engineering, PTC and Rockwell Collins Corporation.
