A/E Firms Shying Away From Press Releases
August 17, 2010

Fewer A/E firms are sending press releases, according to ZweigWhite’s 2010 Marketing Survey of Architecture, Engineering, Planning & Environmental Consulting Firms. Only 70% of the firms surveyed report sending press releases, a decline of over 10% from the same survey conducted in 2009. The latest edition of ZweigWhite’s Ready-to-Go AEC Press List offers hundreds of press contacts to get firms back on track with their public relations efforts.

The swift adoption of new technology and the prevalence of social media could be taking priority away from traditional press releases. Firms that did not adjust the way they produce and distribute press releases for the new online world have most likely found their press releases ineffective— and decided to stop sending them at all.

But, if anything, building a strong press list and sending press releases can help A/E firms even more in today’s online environment. The Internet offers more outlets for broadcasting press releases— many of them free of charge— and comprehensive online tools for tracking the results of those press releases.
