AASHTO Announces Annual Washington Briefing Schedule

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), a nonprofit, nonpartisan association representing State Departments of Transportation in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, will hold its annual Washington Briefing from Tuesday, February 25, through Friday, February 28, 2020, at the Washington Court Hotel, 525 New Jersey Avenue NW, Washington, D.C., 20001.

The meeting will focus on legislative issues related to transportation policy, infrastructure funding, and safety, as well as ongoing efforts aimed at developing a national strategy to support transportation automation.

On Wednesday, February 26, 2020, U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao will deliver the luncheon keynote address. On Thursday, February 27, 2020, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, Chairman of the National Governors Association will give the luncheon keynote address.

Speaking Wednesday morning are Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Chairman John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.), House T & I Subcommittee on Highways and Transit Ranking Member Rodney Davis (R-Ill.), and House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Trade Chairman Earl Blumenauer, (D-Ore.)
