AIA Chief Economist to Weigh in at Hot Firm Conference
September 28, 2009

Kermit Baker, AIA Chief Economist has confirmed that he will serve as a keynote speaker at the 10th annual Zweig Letter Hot Firm Conference in Las Vegas this October. His address will be part of the special opening forum, Making Sense of the Economy: Strategic Direction for Architecture, Engineering, and Environmental Consulting Firms. This program will discuss how the industry has changed during the economic downturn, how the next upturn will look, and what strategies firms should use to prepare for it.

In his upcoming speech, he is expected to describe how conditions now require that design and environmental firm leaders need to be thinking more about strategic direction for their company in preparing for the next upturn, rather than just finding a job to keep staff employed this week.

The Zweig Letter 2009 Hot Firm Conference will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, October 29th-30th, 2009. Other speakers in this forum will include Grant Ferrier, Founder and Editor in chief of Environmental Business Journal and Mark “Rusty” Sherwood, Vice President of Global Accounts at McGraw-Hill Construction. ZweigWhite Founder and Director Mark Zweig will serve as conference MC. For more information visit
