American Water Announces "Hydro School"
April 13, 2007

With environmental concerns on the rise, Americans are beginning to implement ways to alleviate pollution, especially when it comes to water. Even the children of America are “going green,” namely a group of fourth-grade students from Philadelphia. American Water recently partnered with the non-profit communications organization, Green Treks, to create the American Water Hydro School. This interactive web portal is aimed at creating a new generation of ‘watershed heroes.” Here, students and educators are able to gain knowledge about protecting the planet’s most essential resource through online games and activities. The web site has video clips, and plenty of background information about water issues, along with suggested activities for parents and teachers to do with their children at home or out in their local watershed. Everyone can become more environmentally conscious through this new program. For more information visit
