ASHRAE Announces New Scholarship
June 9, 2010

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) is pleased to announce the establishment of the Daniel C. Pettway Scholarship at Tidewater Community College, Hampton Roads VA. Mr. Pettway’s long standing commitment and contributions to ASHRAE at the local, regional and national levels is recognized by the establishment of this scholarship. The scholarship is available for students attending Tidewater Community College (TCC).

Mr. Pettway is a TCC alumnus, graduating in 2003 with an A.S. in General Studies. He’s held various positions in the heating and air conditioning industry, in both the residential and commercial marketplaces. Mr. Pettway’s involvement with ASHRAE began in 1988 because of its mission to educate and grow the industry. He has served in all the officer positions in the local chapter of ASHRAE, several of the ASHRAE Region III regional officer positions, and spent three years on the ASHRAE Board of Directors (2006-2009). He begins a term on Technology Council in July, which is the reporting council for ASHRAE standards and research related committees.

This scholarship was established by the Hampton Roads Chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers to support future HVAC professionals. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, fees, books, and other expenses associated with the student’s program.
