The American Society of Safety Engineers’ (ASSE) Kuwait Chapter recently established the ASSE-Gulf Cooperation Council Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Excellence Award to recognize leadership and excellence while encouraging exceptional performance in workplace safety, health and the environment (SH&E) within private sector companies in the Middle East. The award aims to showcase successful business models from organizations that uphold occupational safety, health and the environment as a business value and excel in SH&E performance. To be eligible for the award, companies must be in the private sector and have independent SH&E performance systems. Companies will be evaluated on their ability to demonstrate that their SH&E management system led to proven success in their SH&E practices and enhanced productivity. In addition, companies must show consistent improvement or that they have maintained top performance in SH&E for a minimum of two years. Performance measures must be based on recognized industry, national and or international metrics.
Award recipients will be invited and recognized at the ASSE-Kuwait Chapter 5th International HSE & Loss Prevention Professional Development Conference and Exposition 2009 on March 17th-19th, 2009 in Kuwait.
