ASSE "Systems Safety and Process Safety" Webinar
August 17, 2009

The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) will be offering a webinar addressing System Safety and Process Safety from the recently published Safety Professionals Handbook by ASSE.

They will introduce system safety terminology that is used in both system and process safety. They will discuss the concepts of risk and risk assessment and how it applies to hazard identification and control. Similarly, once hazards are identified, they will then discuss risk mitigation and acceptability criteria. That is, what level of risk from a particular hazard can be deemed acceptable. They will follow with a discussion regarding a few basic design solutions for identified hazards. They will introduce and provide an overview of some of the more popular analysis techniques used in system and process safety. Finally they will discuss the hazard analysis worksheets as a tool for executing system safety and process safety.

This 60 minute webcast will broadcast live at 11:00am Central/Noon Eastern on Thursday, August 27th. For more information, visit the ASSE Virtual Classroom.

Live webinars have interactive benefits, but if one misses an ASSE webinar of interest, you can go to ASSE’s webinar archive to download sessions to view at your convenience.
