ASSE to Offer Safety Certification Workshops

In an effort to provide safety, health and environmental professionals (SH&E) with the opportunity to earn professional certifications, the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) will offer math reviews and three-day certification preparation workshops on September 20th-26th, 2009 in Reno, Nevada; October 4th-10th, 2009 in Virginia Beach, Virginia; November 8th-11th, 2009 in Miami, Florida; and December 6th-12th, 2009 at ASSE headquarters in Des Plaines, Illinois. According to a study by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), SH&E professionals with certifications such as the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) can earn up to $30K more per year than persons without certifications.

The September workshops will be located at the Silver Legacy Resort and Casino in Reno and will include a math review course on September 20th, the Associate Safety Professional (ASP) Workshop from September 21st-23rd, and the CSP Workshop from September 24th-26th. In October, the workshops will be held at the Founders Inn and Spa in Virginia Beach. The math review will take place on October 4th, the ASP Workshop will run from October 5th-7th, and the CSP Workshop will take place October 8th-10th.

November workshops will take place at the Hyatt Regency Miami with the math review on November 8th and the ASP and CSP Workshops both taking place on November 9th-11th. The final math workshop offered in 2009 at ASSE headquarters in Illinois will take place on December 6th, while the ASP Workshop will take place from December 7th-9th and the CSP Workshop will run from December 10th-12th.
