Autodesk Supports Future Engineers

As part of its ongoing commitment to foster the next generation of engineering professionals, Autodesk, Inc. announced recently a financial donation to the Science, Technology and Engineering Preview Summer (STEPS) Academy established by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) Education Foundation and Project Lead the Way (PLTW) for middle-school students. The grant will be used to sponsor one student at each of the 62 STEPS Academy programs scheduled across the United States this summer.

Autodesk is investing in a number of programs to improve science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education throughout the country, and recently launched an online community for middle- and high-school educators and students to improve learning outcomes in STEM subjects. The Autodesk Student Engineering and Design Community provides free* access to popular 2D and 3D design software, as well as myriad resources to promote project-based learning, from curricula and a teacher-only discussion forum, to projects and homework help for students, and more.
