Bodman Slated to Headline at Air Quality VI Conference

The U.S. Secretary of Energy, Samuel W. Bodman, has been invited to deliver the keynote address at the upcoming Air Quality VI Conference. beginning Monday, September 24, 2007, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington, VA.

Bodman was sworn in as the 11th Secretary of Energy on February 1, 2005, after the U.S. Senate unanimously confirmed him on January 31, 2005. Secretary Bodman leads the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) with a budget in excess of $23 billion and over 100,000 federal and contractor employees. Prior to his appointment, he served as Deputy Secretary of the Treasury.

Initiated in 1998, the Air Quality conference has become the premier international conference on mercury, trace elements, SO3, particulate matter, and greenhouse gases in the environment. The 4-day event will provide comprehensive educational sessions on air quality impacts on policy, health and ecosystems, emission prevention and control, measurement methods and atmospheric reactions and modeling, and greenhouse gas issues.
