Clark Nexsen Receives Interior Design Awards

The award-winning interior design for the Hancock Geriatric Treatment Center, by Clark Nexsen.

Clark Nexsen was recipient of first place awards in two categories of the 2009 Interior Design Excellence Awards, for the interior design of the Hancock Geriatric Treatment Center in Williamsburg, Va., and the design of the Old Dominion University (ODU) Powhatan Sports Complex in Norfolk Va. Clark Nexsen’s design for the ODU Webb Center Dining also received an Honorable Mention.

The design for the ODU Powhatan Sports Complex won first in the Institutional Category. The complex houses the Old Dominion University’s new football team’s practice quarters and is home to the field hockey and women’s lacrosse programs.

The interior design for the Hancock Geriatric Treatment Center won first place in the Healthcare category. The center is a psychiatric intermediate care facility specializing in geriatric patients. The program has been developed around a 150-bed capacity serving patients suffering from a mixture of mental health conditions

The awards program is presented by the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Virginia Chapter and International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Virginia/West Virginia Chapter.
