The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has issued a Federal Register notice of intent (NOI) to establish a working group under the Appliance Standards and Rulemaking Federal Advisory Committee (ASRAC) to negotiate and, if possible, reach consensus on proposed rules for test procedures and energy conservation standards for variable refrigerant flow multi-split air conditioners and heat pumps (VRF multi-split systems). In the notice, DOE indicates that the working group is expected to make a concerted effort to negotiate its first term sheet on test procedures and its second term sheet on energy conservation standards within six months of its first meeting. Interested persons are encouraged to submit their name, resume, biography, and any letter of support via email. Nominations for membership must be received on or before April 26, 2018.
