Flatiron Donates Funds to ASSE Foundation
April 13, 2009

In continued support of safety, health and environmental education, Flatiron recently donated $5,000 to the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Foundation to fund a construction safety scholarship for students pursuing degrees in safety and health with an emphasis on construction. The funding will support the $4,650 Flatiron Construction Safety Scholarship provided each year through the ASSE Foundation. This year’s scholarship winners will be announced in early April.

Flatiron is one of the leading providers of transportation construction and civil engineering in North America. Its core competencies include major bridge, highway, and rail projects. Flatiron also operates as a contractor in public-private partnership projects. Founded in 1947, the firm is a subsidiary of HOCHTIEF, one of the world’s leading international construction service providers. Further information is available at the Flatiron website.

The American Society of Safety Engineers Foundation, established by and in partnership with the American Society of Safety Engineers, generates funding and provides resources for scholarship, applied research, academic accreditation, and related academic initiatives in order to advance the safety, health, and environmental profession. For more information on the Foundation and its programs visit the ASSE Foundation website.
