G&O Participating in National Conference

Expert floodplain mapping personnel from Maryland-based engineering consulting firm Greenhorne & O’Mara (G&O) are participating in the 32nd annual Association of State Floodplain Managers National Conference (ASFPM) being held in Reno-Sparks, NV, May 18-23, 2008. This year’s theme is “A Living River Approach to Floodplain Management.”

This is viewed as the world’s largest and most comprehensive floodplain management conference. Throughout the week, nearly 200 industry experts will conduct plenary and concurrent sessions and share state-of-the-art techniques, programs, and resources to accomplish flood mitigation, watershed management, and other community goals. Supplementary technical field tours and training workshops are also available to provide in-depth training, and numerous networking activities offer additional opportunities to learn.

G&O is sending 13 experts who will be presenting, moderating, or participating in the sessions. They are: Frank Finch, P.E., President; Vince DiCamillo, CFM, Regional Vice President and Market Leader for the Water and Environment group; Scott Brookhart, P.E., CFM; Jimmy Yeung, Ph.D., P.E.; El Hadji Fall, Engineer; Mike Gilliam, CFM; Alex Haptemariam, P.E., CFM; James Huffines, CFM; Brian Lee, Project Manager; Jeff Lu, Ph.D., CFM; Crystal Moore, Engineer; Hilary Stephens, Planner; and Scott Yi, CFM.
