October 27, 2011

AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a leading provider of federal IT and engineering solutions, recently announced that it has been awarded the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Cabling Hardware Installation Purchasing System (CHIPS) contract. Under the Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract, which carries a ceiling of approximately $25 million over five years, AMERICAN SYSTEMS will provide federal agencies with cost-effective cabling infrastructure support.

Under the terms of the contract, AMERICAN SYSTEMS will provide cabling infrastructure required to complete new offices, relocations or cabling infrastructure changes within an existing network. These services will be provided for the Department of Defense (DOD) and other federal government agencies located in the Northwest/Arctic region of the country.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is the prime contractor on the CHIPS contract. With offices located in Bremerton, Wash., AMERICAN SYSTEMS will work with local partners to perform the contract work.

Work under the contract, which has one base year and four one-year options, began on Sept. 2, 2011.
