H&A Architects & Engineers to Present at “Green in the Military 3”

Richmond-based design firm, H&A Architects & Engineers is scheduled to present at “Green in the Military 3” (GIM3) hosted by the Hampton Roads Green Building Council (HRGBC) on February 2nd, 2011, at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.

H&A’s technical session topic, “Federal and Military Energy Mandates and LEED – Cutting Through the Confusion,” focuses on a number of case studies from LEED-certified federal projects. The scheduled presenters are H&A’s Mechanical Department Head, Rob McAtee, PE, LEED AP and Senior Mechanical Engineer, Jason Takacs, PE, LEED AP. They will discuss current mandates and initiatives for reducing the nations’ energy consumption, and demonstrate how savings calculations can lead to unanticipated results.

Scot Horst, senior vice president of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the scheduled keynote speaker for the conference. According to HRGBC, the 2011 conference agenda includes updates from each participating branch of the military, outlining their latest green building policies and achievements. GIM3 will include an exhibit hall filled with over 40 booths displaying the latest in green building technologies and services for military projects.
