The Richmond Section of The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity, has announced that David West, CEO and Product Owner for Scrum.org, will be speaking in Richmond on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, on the topic “Scrum Turns 21, Are We Done Yet.” The event will be held at the Capital One West Creek Commons Building, 15080 Capital One Drive, Room 274-276 in Richmond, Virginia. The IEEE Computer Society is hosting this event jointly with Agile Richmond and ScrumRVA.
For many, Scrum has become the de-facto standard in Agile team organization. But what is next for Scrum? Will Scrum just become the ‘way you build software’ rather than something special or unique? In his presentation, Mr. West will discuss the success and future of Scrum and what needs to happen to Scrum to continue its relevance. Additionally, he will describe how measurement, scaling and DevOps need to be weaved into Scrum to not only ensure its relevance, but also help the profession of software development improve.
