International Conference of Major Concrete Industry Institutes

The major technical institutes of the U.S. concrete industry have joined in cosponsoring a major international conference that will assemble the world’s top talents in structural concrete technology.

The Third International fib Congress will be held May 29th to June 2nd, 2010, at the Gaylord National Resort in National Harbor, Md. Cosponsors include the American Concrete Institute, American Segmental Bridge Institute, Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute, International Concrete Repair Institute, Post-Tensioning Institute, National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, Portland Cement Association, International Prestressed Hollowcore Association, and U.S. Federal Highway Administration.

The International Federation for Structural Concrete, or fib, holds its International Congress only once every 4 years, at different locations around the globe. For 2010, the Congress is being hosted in the United States by the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI). This will be the first fib Congress held in the United States.

Program topics include bridges and transportation, building systems, engineering, design, analysis, materials, sustainability, plant and field operations, construction, ultra-high-performance concrete, and more.
