John G. Voeller Honored for Technology Leadership

FIATECH, an industry-led consortium that provides global leadership in identifying and accelerating the development, demonstration and deployment of fully integrated and automated technologies to deliver the highest business value throughout the life cycle of all types of capital projects, has announced that John G. Voeller, a 2003-2008 ASME White House Fellow and Senior Vice President at Black & Veatch, received the 2009 James B. Porter, Jr. Award for Technology Leadership.

The James B. Porter, Jr. Award for Technology Leadership was established in 2007 to honor and celebrate Porter’s vision, leadership, technical acumen and commitment to people and to advancing the industry and the goals of FIATECH. Annually, this prestigious award is given to a deserving individual who is selected by the FIATECH Board of Directors and who exemplifies these traits and characteristics. In 2008, this award was presented to K. Keith Roe, Chairman, President & CEO, Burns & Roe Group, Inc.

James B. Porter, Jr., Chief Engineer and Vice President, Engineering & Operations, DuPont (retired), presented the 2009 award stating, “John Voeller is a global visionary in strategic technology direction. His leadership continues to chart the pathway to the most business effective solutions for a wide range of critical industrial and societal needs.”
