Lunenburg County Location For New Plant
May 11, 2011

Reston, Va.-based Safety Technologies Inc., a manufacturer of explosion-suppression systems for fuel storage tank systems, has announced the firm will invest between $5 – $6 million to open a new manufacturing plant in Lunenburg County, Virginia. According to company sources, an aluminum foil product used in STI’s exclusively marketed and manufactured Detonation Suppression System (DSS™) will be manufactured at the new plant facility.

In order to secure the project, Governor McDonnell approved a $100,000 grant from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund to assist Lunenburg County and the Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission approved $160,000 in Tobacco Region Opportunity Funds.
