Manual Provides Guidance on 2010 Energy Standard
March 11, 2011

Detailed guidance on how to apply the latest ASHRAE/IES standard for the design of energy-efficient buildings is provided in a newly published user’s manual.

The User’s Manual to ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1-2010, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings, was published recently. The standard, which provides minimum requirements for the energy-efficient design of buildings except low-rise residential buildings, contains 109 addenda approved since the 2007 standard was published.

Since being developed in response to the energy crisis in the 1970s, Standard 90.1 has become the basis for building codes, and the standard for building design and construction throughout the United States.

The cost of the 90.1-2010 User’s Manual is $99 ($84, members). To order visit
