To help eliminate the talent gap in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education in our nation’s schools, The Army National Guard created the Mobile Learning Center (MLC) Energy Lab to engage and ignite the excitement of 11th and 12th grade students in math and science, stress the importance of staying in school, promote career opportunities in STEM-related fields and supplement education standards in core STEM curricula.
The MLC is equipped with cutting edge technology and utilizes the topics of energy efficiency and alternative energy as the platform for the learning lab experiments. The MLC boasts a 24-seat on-board theater and four interactive and engaging experiences. The math and science components were designed to supplement in-classroom STEM standards and resources will be made available to teachers and students via an online web portal. The MLC is the first of its kind and provides a creative, hands-on, innovative and memorable STEM encounter.
