New 1NCD Operations Building Contract Awarded
August 4, 2010

According to information made available from Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic awarded an $8.2 million firm-fixed price contract recently to Noah Enterprises, Inc., a small business in Virginia Beach, Va., for design and construction of First Naval Construction Division (1NCD) Operations Control Facility. The building will be at Joint Expeditionary Base (JEB) Little Creek-Fort Story.

Work to be performed provides for the design and construction of a two-story headquarters facility with administrative areas, sensitive compartmented intelligence facility, data processing areas, support facilities, and mechanical, electrical and communications spaces.

The new Operations Control Facility will allow 1NCD to focus on its mission to organize, train, operate and maintain the Naval Construction Forceā€“the Navy’s subject matter expert for Seabees.

As a scalable, deployable force, 1NCD provides command and control of multiple expeditionary construction elements in support of Marine air-ground task forces and other joint force components and, if required, command and control of multiple Navy Expeditionary Combat Command expeditionary elements across the full range of military operations.

Work will be performed in Virginia Beach, Va. and is expected to be completed by July 2012.
