New Degree Offered Online by Texas A&M
February 25, 2008

Texas A&M University-Kingsville now offers a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering degree that can be earned entirely online.

The program is one of only two in the state. The other online master’s program in industrial engineering (IE) in Texas comes from Texas A&M University, which offers a Master of Engineering in IE. Spring 2008 marks the first semester for the A&M-Kingsville online program, approved in fall 2007 by the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents.

The online degree plan consists of 36 semester hours of courses. Students must be admitted to the university and register for courses just as they would for an on-campus degree program. After that, noted graduate coordinator Dr. Kai Jin, associate professor of mechanical and industrial engineering, online students have some added benefits, such as flexibility in where and when they can take their classes.

More information on the online master’s program in IE is available by contacting graduate coordinator Dr. Kai Jin, associate professor of industrial engineering, at 361-593-2135 or at, or online.
