NIH R&D Funding Sources & Proposal Submission Tips
June 29, 2009

On July 16th, 2009 the Center for Innovative Technology presents a two part session on National Institutes of Health (NIH) R&D Funding Sources & Proposal Submission Tips at TeqCorner in McLean, Virginia.

This two part session presents an overview of the various types of R&D funding available from NIH and how to make NIH grant proposals more competitive. A new Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) at NIH gives preference to those who have not received NIH Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) previously.

The morning session presents Ms. Kay Etzler from the Office of Extramural Grants Programs at NIH. Ms. Etzler will provide an insightful overview of the various funding mechanisms and current opportunities at NIH, including the SBIR and STTR programs, current and future stimulus funding opportunities, and other NIH grants mechanisms.

The afternoon session presents Mr. John Davis of The SBIR Resource Center. Mr. Davis has worked with hundreds of small businesses for over 16 years to support their efforts to apply for NIH SBIR and STTR grants. This session provides helpful tips on the NIH submission process and how to make your proposal more competitive.

The cost for the Morning NIH Funding Session is $15 per person, the cost for the Afternoon Submission Tips Session is $45 per person and the cost for a 2 session combo is $50 per person. Register online.
