Patton Harris Rust & Associates Acquired by Pennoni Associates
January 6, 2011

Pennoni Associates, an ENR Top 115 engineering, design and consulting firm headquartered in Philadelphia, has acquired Patton Harris Rust & Associates (PHR+A) headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia. Pennoni is pleased to announce the addition of the 175 staff members and seven offices of PHR+A to its family of professional, technical and administrative personnel. Pennoni has been providing multi-disciplined consulting engineering services from offices in the Northeastern United States since 1966, and is now proud to incorporate the PHR+A offices in Maryland and Virginia into its base of operations.

PHR+A was established in 1952 as a professional engineering and land surveying firm in Northern Virginia. They have a long tradition of providing engineering services to a variety of clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region. PHR+A’s professional staff include telecommunications and utility engineers, surveyors, planners, landscape architects, and environmental specialists. Their staff and services will complement and enhance those offered by Pennoni Associates nationally and internationally.

The addition of PHR+A and their seven offices in Maryland and Virginia enhances Pennoni’s size and geographic reach. Prior to the acquisition, Pennoni had 775 employees in eight states providing engineering, design and consulting services. Much of Pennoni’s long-term success can be attributed to the excellent client service they provide by having offices strategically located to serve both national and international clients, a business model shared by PHR+A.
