Resource Specialist Presents at Conference
April 28, 2010

A case study of a water meter installation program for a small community located in western Virginia was highlighted by Draper Aden Associates at the annual Virginia Rural Water Association Annual Conference held in Williamsburg, VA on April 11th-14th, 2010. Lori Kroll, Community Resource Specialist for Draper Aden Associates, presented “To Boldly Go Where No Town Has Gone Before: The Implementation of a Community –Wide Water Meter Installation Program”.

This presentation shared how the community began tackling their economic challenges and the precarious nature of local infrastructure
by installing water service meters to begin quantifying their water usage, which is among the first steps necessary to develop a comprehensive plan for water and wastewater system infrastructure improvements.
