S&ME Expands
November 19, 2007

The engineering and environmental consulting firm, S&ME, Inc. has opened an office in Norfolk, VA to serve the Hampton Roads region. The Norfolk office, operating as a satellite of the firm’s, Richmond branch, is due in part to S&ME’s involvement in the Craney Island Eastward Expansion Project.

S&ME is part of the Craney Island Design Partners that was awarded the project. The firm will be providing soil characterization services and geotechnical consulting for the project. S&ME is contracted through the Army Corps of Engineers – Norfolk District to complete the proposed work.

Aaron Zdinak, P.E., will lead the new office. An alumnus of the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech, he has over 10 years experience with geotechnical consulting and project management of transportation and municipal projects throughout Virginia.

Formerly Virginia Geotechnical Services, S&ME’s Richmond branch has had a presence in Virginia since 1987.
