Ten Thousand Commandments 2017
June 14, 2017

The Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit public policy organization dedicated to advancing the principles of limited government, free enterprise, and individual liberty, has issued its annual survey of the size, scope, and cost of federal regulations, and how the U.S. regulatory burden affects American consumers, businesses, and the economy. Entitled “Ten Thousand Commandments: An Annual Snapshot of the Federal Regulatory State,” the new report finds the burden of federal regulations on the American public, based on federal government data, past reports, and contemporary studies, reached a record $1.9 trillion last year. That amounts to a hidden tax of nearly $15,000 per household.

Visit the CEI site to review the 2017 survey highlights and to view the full report.
