Twenty top master’s and Ph.D. candidates from the U.Va. School of Engineering and Applied Science will present their theses and dissertations as part of the 2006 University of Virginia Engineering Research Symposium (UVERS) on Thursday, April 27. The symposium, an academic poster competition open to graduate students in the School, will be held in the Mural Room of Clarke Hall on U.Va.’s Grounds.
“UVERS is a poster competition for E-School graduate students whose presentations represent some of the most prestigious research in the country,” say UVERS co-founders Rob Janiczek and Charlie Smith. “Our Masters and Ph.D. students travel extensively to present their research to colleagues in their respective fields. However, they are seldom given the opportunity to share their research accomplishments with their U.Va. colleagues right here at home. The University of Virginia Engineering Research Symposium (UVERS) is changing that.” www.seas.virginia.edu
