VHB Acquires BMI-SG
March 29, 2005

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. (VHB) announced recently that it has acquired Washington, DC-based BMI-SG, a well-respected traffic, transit and transportation planning, engineering, and research firm with offices in Silver Spring, MD, Vienna, VA, and Raleigh, NC.

Bellomo-McGee, Inc., the official name of the Virginia-based Corporation, was formed in 1982. In 2003, the company merged with SG Associates, a transit planning firm, and began operating as BMI-SG. The firm offers professional transportation planning, engineering and research services to federal government agencies, research organizations and public- and private-sector clients throughout Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia and the nation. BMI-SG has 33 employees and annual gross revenue of more than $4 million.

VHB—ranked the #93 design firm in the U.S., as well as among the nation’s top-40 transportation firms, by industry magazine Engineering News-Record—offers specialized transportation, land development, and environmental services to clients throughout the United States. VHB has been in business since 1979.

The firm will maintain BMI-SG’s current offices in Vienna, VA, Silver Spring, MD and Raleigh, NC, and will be called BMI-SG: a VHB Company.
