Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College will hold its first “Introduction to Wind Energy” class in March this year. The full program, which consists of a one year certificate or a two year Associate in Applied Science degree, will get started with the fall semester in August. Eastern is working with other colleges across the state and the nation to develop Wind Technician Training that will eventually be standardized. The American Wind Energy Association hopes to put it’s stamp of approval on a standardized set of trainings sometime in the near future. Eastern is located in Moorefield West Virginia and serves the surrounding counties in WV. For more info visit www.eastern.wvnet.edu
