The County of Bath, Virginia, located in the Allegheny Highlands with a population of approximately 4,700 residents, is seeking interested and qualified applicants for an open position as County Administrator. The position serves at the pleasure of a 5-member Board of Supervisors, has an annual budget of $23 million, and oversees eight (8) departments having 17 employees along with contracted solid waste services. Position requires a bachelor’s degree in public administration or a related field or equivalent experience with a master’s degree preferred; extensive supervisory work in local management; excellent communication and team-building skills. Successful candidate will be responsible for budget and finance, personnel supervision, economic and community development, grants development and administration, solid waste, planning and building, properties, parks and recreation, animal control, emergency operations, and other governmental functions including coordination with other county, regional, state, and federal personnel, community officials and groups.
