Canon Virginia, Inc. is currently seeking qualified applicants for an open position as an Electrical Engineer at their Newport News, Va. facility. The successful candidate will: provide electrical engineering support to implement and/or design production equipment and systems; support production line start-ups and continuous improvement; utilize strong PLC and robotics knowledge to be used in equipment installation and modification; design automated production equipment and systems, such as instrument controls, machines, and mechanical/electrical systems, by applying knowledge of engineering principles; and troubleshoot equipment problems. The position requires a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering with 3-8 years experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Must have a strong working knowledge of PLC programming (both writing and troubleshooting), robot programming, and controls design/troubleshooting experience. Vision system programming a plus. Electrol/Mechanical experience preferred to support hands-on troubleshooting and production support.
