Luna Corporation, a Roanoke, Va.-based company that develops and manufactures new generation products for the healthcare, telecommunications, energy, and defense markets, is seeking a qualified individual to join the firm as an Electrical Engineer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting ongoing interdisciplinary research projects and new technology development and will need to be creative and work with other staff to assemble prototype hardware and software systems to support on-going programs. Duties will include assuming the lead and/or working as part of a multidisciplinary team for various development projects, system and sub-system level design and testing, report generation, and customer support.

The position requires:
BSEE and 3 years experience or MSEE with specific knowledge of devise design/development;
Proven track record in electronic design including experience with embedded systems (firmware, FPGA development, micro-controllers, state machines, DSPs), and analog and digital design;
Exceptional troubleshooting skills with hands-on experience with analog design, test equipment and current prototyping techniques; and
Skilled in the use of test equipment such as data acquisition hardware, oscilloscopes, function generators, and spectrum and network analyzers.

Desired skills are:
Knowledge of embedded design/development, circuit design/development, and printed circuit layout; and
Ability to program in MATLAB, LabView and C, C++, JAVA or Virtual Basic.

Due to government contracting regulations, U. S. citizenship is a firm requirement.
