Engineer - Procurement Specifications
The Virginia Department of General Services (DGS), Division of Purchases and Supply is currently seeking a specification engineer, position #P0012, to provide specification support to contract officers specializing in the handling of complex procurements for services, major equipment, vehicles and serves as a senior procurement expert. Successful applicant will independently provide technical consulting services, specification assistance and training, guidance and recommendations to agency/institution heads and senior management for improving procurement processes. Using highly complex performance measurement and evaluation tools, the successful applicant will promote efficiency and effectiveness through professional consulting in areas of non-technology procurements, e-procurement, contract development and administration, as well as re-engineering procurement processes to make operations faster, easier, and more efficient.
