Beach Benefits Group, Ltd. is pleased to announce the addition of two new staff members:
Mary Siddons has recently joined the firm as Account Manager. Ms. Siddons will be directly responsible for their Client Management. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, she holds a degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Resources. During her undergraduate studies, she interned in the HR Department at Overnight Transportation/UPS Freight.
Barbara Ryan Tessari, CEBS, has joined the firm as Senior Account Executive. Ms. Tessari is a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist with over 20 years experience. Prior to moving to Richmond, she was a consultant for Marsh/Mercer, advising Fortune 1000 companies, and then formed her own consulting firm in Wilmington, DE. Her background is in Alternate Funding, creative Plan Design and Cost Containment Strategies emphasizing Wellness and Consumer Driven Health Plans.

Bowman Consulting is pleased to announce that Tony H. Dawood, P.E. has joined the management team of its Leesburg office. Mr. Dawood brings over 23 years of experience with the Loudoun County Sanitation Authority in water and wastewater engineering and planning. He holds a B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
Bowman Consulting is also pleased to announce the promotion of Michael P. Pointer, A.S.L.A. to Principal. Mr. Pointer has over 20 years of planning and civil engineering experience in all aspects of land development. As Principal, and a member of the Board of Directors, he will be actively involved in the firm’s strategic operations while continuing to serve as Branch Manager of the Winchester office. He holds a B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture from West Virginia University and is a certified landscape architect in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Jonathan Taylor has recently joined Commonwealth Architects as a senior project manager. He was previously with McKinney and Co.

Timmons Group is pleased to announce that Wes Hunnius and Tamsin Hepner have recently passed the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Professional Engineering examination and are now registered civil engineers.
Mr. Hunnius, a Project Engineer with the firm’s Water/Wastewater sector, received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Old Dominion University.
Mrs. Hepner, a Project Engineer with the newly formed Urban Practices group, received her B.S. degree in Biological Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech.

Robert P. Kerr, President of Kerr Environmental Services Corp., announces that Thad B. McDonald has joined the firm’s staff as a Senior Environmental Scientist.
Mr. McDonald has over six years of experience in the environmental science profession. In his new position, he will provide environmental services for the firm’s public and private clients. He holds a B.S. degree in Biology from Christopher Newport University.

Koontz-Bryant, P.C. recently announced several new additions:
Luke Lappin, P.E. has joined the firm as a Senior Project Manager in the Residential Group. Mr. Lappin relocated to Richmond from Portland, OR, and brings over twelve years of industry experience.
Chris Hamilton, P.E. has joined the firm as a Project Manager in the Residential Engineering Group. He was formerly with the Timmons Group.
Kristopher Brooks has joined the firm as a survey technician in the Survey Group. He is a graduate of the Hermitage Technical Center.
Michael Elander has joined the firm as a Staff Engineer in the Commercial Engineering Group. Mr. Elander is a graduate of VA Tech, where he received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
Steven VanderPloeg has joined the firm as an Assistant Wetland Scientist in the Environmental Group. Mr. VanderPloeg comes with two years of industry experience and was formerly with Balzer & Associates.

Allsbrook Goodman, Inc. has recently announced the addition two new staff members:
Kevin Hanna, E.I.T. has joined the firm as an electrical engineer. Mr. Hanna’s experience includes engineering design power systems, telecommunications systems, and security systems. He holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Military Institute.
Joseph A. Dillard, E.I.T. has joined the firm as an electrical engineer. Mr. Dillard’s experience includes design engineering of power distribution, fire alarm, security, generator systems, and lighting systems. He holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Old Dominion University.
Allsbrook Goodman, Inc. also announced that Glenn D. Allsbrook Jr., P.E., RCDD, has added to his professional registrations becoming a Registered Communications Distribution Designer regulated by the BICSI – Building Industry Consulting Service International.

William R. Jennings, Jr., P.E. – Consulting Engineering has recently announced that Douglas D. Braye, Sr., has joined the Lynchburg office staff as an Electrical Designer. Mr. Braye holds a B.S. degree in Design Technology from Norfolk State University. With 17 years of AutoCAD experience, he has extensive experience producing project deliverables relating to electrical design, lighting and power layout, cost estimates, and record drawings.
The firm has also announced that Michael Fowler has joined the staff as an Electrical Engineer. Mr. Fowler holds a B.S. degree in Physics and has extensive experience in Engineering. His practice includes experience in power and process control system design within industrial facilities. He has experience as a facility plant engineer and as a project engineer.

Hayes, Seay, Mattern & Mattern, Inc. (HSMM), announces the promotion of the following professionals to Associate in their Roanoke office:
Representing HSMM Corporate – Anthony E. Foote, Marketing Communications Director; Chris M. Gibson, Software Specialist in CADD; and Stephen E. Smiroldo, Webmaster and 3D Graphic/Rendering Specialist; and representing HSMM Buildings – Kristine R. Latimer, Business Development Department Head. In HSMM Civil & Environmental – Brian Brown, Business Development Representative; and representing HSMM Transportation – Frank M. Paxton, Lead Bridge Inspector.
Mr. Foote translates marketing objectives into creative strategies to strengthen HSMM’s branding and market leadership throughout the 600+ employee firm. He joined the organization in 2001 and has worked in the communications and marketing field for 24 years. Mr. Foote received his B.S. degree in Studio Art with an emphasis on Commercial Design and a minor in Marketing from the University of North Alabama.
As an HSMM software specialist for the past 11 years, Mr. Gibson has provided CADD services and served as a graphics and 3-D designer. He received a B.S. degree in Design Graphics Engineering Technology from East Tennessee State University.
Mr. Smiroldo earned his B.S. degree in Business Administration from Bridgewater College. He joined the firm in 1998 and has 13 years of experience in his field of expertise. His responsibilities and extensive skills include production of web development, 3-D animations, and interactive interfaces for CDs, DVDs, and the internet.
Employed with HSMM since 1999, Ms. Latimer has 18 years of business development experience in the architectural/engineering field. As business development department head for the firm’s Buildings’ Roanoke office, she is responsible for managing business development, marketing, and public relations programs. She earned a B.S. degree in Textile Design with a minor concentration in Marketing from Philadelphia University.
Mr. Brown has five years of experience in business development with HSMM. He earned his B.S. degree in Social Science from Liberty University and a B.S. degree in Political Science from Longwood College.
As an engineering designer, Mr. Paxton is NBIS-certified as a bridge safety inspector, and serves as lead bridge inspector for HSMM. He has been working in the engineering/construction industry since 1981 and has 16 years of experience with the firm in the areas of civil engineering and structural engineering. He received his A.A.S. in Business Management and A.A.S. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Western Community College.

At their Ashland, VA, office:
Jonathan W. Brown has joined the Land Planning Department as a Land Planner. Mr. Brown has a Masters of Community Planning with a concentration in Urban Design from the University of Maryland. Prior to joining the firm, he was the Executive Director for the Partnership for Workforce Homes.
Ryan D. Knisley has joined the Environmental Department as a Staff Environmental Scientist. Mr. Knisley has a B.A. degree in Environmental Studies from Randolph-Macon College. He was previously a Zoology Lab Assistant with the Virginia Department of Recreation and Conservation.
Tracey R. Bowman has joined the Land Development Engineering Department as a Civil Designer. Ms. Bowman has over 10 years of private and pubic design experience and was previously with PBS&J, Inc. in Newport New, VA.
Gary L. Webster has joined the Land Development Engineering Department as a Senior Project Manager. Mr. Webster has over 30 years experience in project design and management field. He was previously with Bay Design Group PC as a Project Manager.
Mary Pennock has joined the staff as Special Projects Manager for Land Development Projects. Before joining Resource, she worked in the Hanover County Planning Department.
Alexis Sandy has joined the Environmental Department as Staff Environmental Scientist. She will receive her M.S. degree in December 2006.
Rebecca Del Valle has joined the Land Development Engineering Department as a Staff Engineer. She graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
Sean G. Francis has joined the Resource survey team. He previously worked as an intern at Environmental Management Corporation in O’Fallen, MO.
At Resource’s New Kent Field office:
Larry Gallaher has joined as a Resident Project Manger following 30 years with New Kent County. In his new position, Mr. Gallaher will be responsible for quality control of construction on The Farms of New Kent Project.
Perryann Whitehurst has joined as a Field Administrative Services Manager.
At Resource’s Newport News office:
Anthony Risk has joined as an Engineer Designer I. Mr. Risk has an Associates degree from Pensacola College in Florida and will graduate from Old Dominion University with a B.S. degree this fall. He was previously with the City of Newport News.
Karen B. Phan has joined as a Project Engineer II. Ms. Phan has a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Old Dominion University. She was previously with Hurt & Proffitt Incorporated as a Project Engineer.

Tom B. Langley, P.E., LS, President of Langley and McDonald, Inc., announces that Aaron Mickiewicz, E.I.T. has joined the firm as an Engineering Technician. Mr. Mickiewicz brings eight years of engineering experience. He has a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA.

McKinney and Co., announces that Paul M. Boxle has joined the firm as an associate landscape architect. Emily M. Yates has also joined as an associate landscape architect.

Draper Aden Associates is pleased to announce that Christopher E. Toler is a project technician with the environmental group.

Loehr Lightning Protection Co., has recently announced that J.J. Loehr III has been certified as a master installer/designer by the Lightning Protection Institute.

KCI Technologies Inc., has promoted Christopher J. Griffith, P.E., CCM, to Mid-Atlantic regional manager. Before joining KCI, Mr. Griffith managed multi-million dollar construction projects for the Department of Defense as a naval officer. He received a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1985, a Master’s in business administration from Boston University in 1988, a Master’s in civil engineering from the University of Maryland in 1991, and a Master’s in ocean engineering from the University of Hawaii in 1994. He will continue working from the company’s corporate headquarters in Hunt Valley, MD. KCI’s Mid-Atlantic region operates in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.##
