Kincaid–Bryant Consulting Engineers has recently announced that:
Rebecca Stuart has joined the Richmond office as an Electrical Designer. She was previously with Reynolds Lighting; and
Mark Phillips has joined the Lynchburg office as an Project Manager/Project Engineer. He was previously with Master Engineers.

Angela Rivas is the newest member of Massey Design and Associates, PC’s engineering department. Her duties include all aspects of site planning, the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act and utilities. She was previously a contracted employee with the City of Virginia Beach Public Utilities. Ms. Rivas attended Virginia Tech where she received her B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.

Hankins and Anderson, Inc. announces the addition of the following new employees:
Maureen Ward, E.I.T. has joined the Mechanical Department in the firm’s Hampton Roads office. Ms. Ward was formerly with Trautman Associates of New York.
Chris Huerta has joined the firm as a CADD Technician in the Hampton Roads office. Mr. Huerta was formerly with Technical Concepts of Virginia Beach.
LaTonya Whitaker has joined the firm’s Marketing Department as a Marketing Coordinator. Ms. Whitaker was formerly with Westfield Concession Management of Washington, D.C.

Paul J. Bury, III, President of Bury+Partners, Inc., recently received the W. Neal Kocurek Commercial Real Estate Lifetime Achievement Award given by the Austin Business Journal during the Best Real Estate Awards reception.

Dave Merchan, P.E. recently accepted the position of Tech I Mechanical Engineer in the HVAC Department with Baskervill & Son. He was previously with ETEC Mechanical Corporation as a Project Manager in Richmond.

Jimmy White, joins Anderson & Associates as Associate Vice President of Transportation, following a successful 38-year career with the Virginia Department of Transportation and the United States Geodetic Survey. His longest and most recent tenure has been as VDOT Resident Administrator for the Lexington Residency.
Anderson & Associates, Inc. would like to welcome Kevin Biggs, as the Tri-Cities Design Technician.

Kenneth D. Ellis, P.E., recently joined William H. Gordon Associates, Inc. (WHGA) as Director of Engineering at their Chantilly headquarters. In his new role, Mr. Ellis will be responsible for projects throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area, including the District of Columbia, and will manage and oversee a team of professional engineers. He brings over 20 years of experience to WHGA, and has provided professional services to a wide variety of municipal, state, federal, public, and private sector clients. He attended Catholic University, and graduated with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.

Wiley & Wilson, Inc. is pleased to announce the following additions to the firm’s staff:
Robert E. Tanner has joined the firm’s Electrical Engineering Team as an Electrical Project Coordinator. His duties include leading the electrical design effort on large, complicated projects. He attended Virginia Commonwealth University;
Ryan E. Brown has joined the firm’s Structural Engineering Team as a Graduate Engineer. His duties include design of complex structural systems. He holds a B.S. degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Washington; and
Vincent A. Di Marco, P.E. has joined the firm as a Project Manager. His duties include mechanical design and project management for federal, institutional, and private sector projects. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from State University of New York Maritime College and has extensive experience in central heating and utility plant projects.

Timmons Group has recently announced the following promotions and staff additions.
Tamsin Hepner, P.E. has been promoted to Project Manager with the Urban Redevelopment group in the Site Development sector. Ms. Hepner is a graduate of Virginia Tech where she received her B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
Tracy Ruff, E.I.T., LEED® AP has been promoted to Project Engineer III with the Urban Redevelopment Group in the Site Development sector. Ms. Ruff is a graduate of Cornell University where she received her B.S. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Mary Jane Keefe has been promoted to Environmental Scientist with the Environmental Services group in the firm’s Infrastructure sector. Ms. Keefe is a graduate of Mount Allison University where she received her B.S. degree in Environmental Science.
James Hatcher has been promoted to Environmental Scientist with the Environmental Services group in the Infrastructure sector. Mr. Hatcher is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where he received his B.S. degree in Environmental Science.
Heath Lyle has been promoted to Project Engineer III with the Commercial group in the Site Development sector. Mr. Lyle is a graduate of Iowa State University where he received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering Technology.
Laurie Hamlin has been promoted to Project Engineer III with the Commercial group in the Site Development sector. Ms. Hamlin is a graduate of Old Dominion University where she received her B.S. degree in Civil Engineering Technology.
Blake Hall, LA, ASLA has been promoted to Landscape Architect III with the Education group in the Site Development sector. Mr. Hall is a graduate of Virginia Tech where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture.
Erica Gatti, ASLA has been promoted to Landscape Architect III with the Education group in the Site Development sector. Ms. Gatti is a graduate of Virginia Tech where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture.
Jason Bohdan has joined the firm as Environmental Scientist with the Environmental Services group. Mr. Bohdan was most recently with Golder Associates where he was Environmental Scientist for 2 years. His duties included consultations with clients through wetland delineations, impact assessments, mitigation and wetland permitting. Mr. Bohdan is a graduate of Virginia Tech were he received his B.S. degree in Wildlife Science with a minor in Biology and Horticulture.
Nick Hadiaris has been promoted to Project Engineer III with the Public Safety group in the Site Development sector. Mr. Hadiaris is a graduate of the University of Maine where he received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
Jason Mullins has been promoted to Project Engineer II with the Education group in the firm’s Site Development sector. Mr. Mullins is a graduate of Virginia Tech where he received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
Mike Lare has joined Timmons Group as Designer working out of the Hampton Roads office. Mr. Lare was most recently with Rummel Klepper & Kahl where he worked for 7 years as a CADD Technician developing transportation, utility infrastructure drawings, including title sheets and plan and profile sheets. Mr. Lare received an A.A.S. in Business Management from Tidewater Community College.
Apurva Goyal has joined the firm as GIS Developer with the Technology Group located in the firm’s downtown Richmond office. Mr. Goyal was most recently with EarthData International serving as Lead GIS Applications Developer where he designed, developed, implemented, consulted and addressed the software or system demands of their GIS clients. Mr. Goyal holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Punjab Engineering College in India.
Andrew Moriarty, P.E. has joined the firm as Director of Engineering for the expansion office Raleigh, NC. Mr. Moriarty was most recently with John R. McAdams Inc. where he served as Group Manager in the Civil Engineering Department for the firm’s Charlotte Regional Office. He is a graduate of Lehigh University where he received a B.S. in Civil Engineering.

Draper Aden Associates is pleased to announce that six members of the firm’s Geotechnical Staff have become Certified Geosynthetic Inspectors. The certification covers the inspection of Geosynthetic materials and installation methods, as well as compacted clay liner installation and materials, for landfill construction and design.
The six employees are Scott Thornton and Jason Judy, staff engineers, and Justin Cornwell, Darren Spier, Frank Peart, and Jeremy Bosdell, senior technicians.
Stephanie Klaus, E.I.T., a 2006 civil engineering graduate with a focus on sustainable design, has joined the Charlottesville office of Draper Aden as a staff engineer. In her new position, Ms. Klaus will be working in Site Planning and Engineering for the firm. She earned a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech with a concentration in “Green Engineering.”
Edward W. Stakem III, E.I.T., has joined the firm as a staff engineer in Utilities Engineering. Mr. Stakem holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. His past experience includes designing remediation systems, creating field drawings and collecting and analyzing of sampling data.
Ryan Johnson, LSIT and Marvin L. Washington have joined Draper Aden as surveyors in the firm’s Richmond office. Mr. Johnson, a survey crew leader, holds two A.A.S degrees, in Survey Technology and Civil Engineering Technology from Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, NC. Mr. Washington, a surveyor, is currently majoring in Civil Engineering Technologies at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College.
W. Gregory White has been named Survey Team Leader in the Hampton Roads office of Draper Aden. A 16 year veteran of the firm, Mr. White has surveying experience that includes construction stake-out, geodetic control surveying, boundary and topographic surveying, “as-built” surveys for the United States Army Corps of Engineers, as well as utility locations and wetlands delineation.

At McKinney and Co., Jesse R. Penn III has joined the staff as an architectural CAD designer and Cicek G. Smith has joined the staff as a structural engineer.
McKinney and Co. has also recently announced that Michael W. Howell is a civil engineer, Susan A. Bankauf is an architect and Pavis D. Narcisse is an electrical engineer.

Steven Pond has recently been promoted to Associate with Schnabel Engineering Inc.

H. Dexter Casterlow, P.E., has joined MMM Design Group as a structural engineer. Mr. Casterlow has both a B.S. and M.S. degree in Civil Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, N.C. He brings almost 10 years of experience in structural design, safety inspections and project management to MMM. His most recent experience includes commercial and government facilities projects. Mr. Casterlow is also an adjunct professor in Hampton University’s Department of Architecture.

James R. “Ron” DiFrancesco, Jr., P.E., Senior Consultant with Golder Associates Inc.’s Richmond office, has accepted his appointment as an Associate. Mr. DiFrancesco joined the firm’s staff in 2005 and has more than 20 years of experience in civil engineering services. He has extensive experience with numerous engineering and environmental codes and regulations, and has managed contracts for state and local governments in addition to private sector clients. His technical experience includes solid waste facility planning, design, permitting, and construction management.

Stephen D. Butler has joined Commonwealth Architects as a senior associate. ##
