Hankins and Anderson, Inc., has announced the addition of the following new employees:
Michael Dickerson has joined the firm as a Mechanical Designer. Mr. Dickerson was formerly with Colonial Webb, Inc.
Douglas Potts is a Civil Designer and has joined the firm’s Civil Department. Mr. Potts was formerly with Koontz-Bryant, P.C.
Jonathan Gunn is a Mechanical Engineer and has joined the firm’s Mechanical Department. Mr. Gunn was formerly with Favor Network Services, LLC.

Speight, Marshall & Francis, P.C., a Virginia Beach structural engineering firm, is pleased to announce that Gregory H. Lee, P.E. has obtained his Professional Engineering license in Virginia.

Omar Ching, of The Engineering Groupe, Inc., recently received certification as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Mr. Ching’s nearly eighteen years of experience in the civil/environmental engineering field includes all phases of work from infrastructure design through construction and facility management. Since joining the firm, he has been responsible for site planning and infrastructure design for residential and commercial land development projects working out of the firm’s central headquarters office in Woodbridge, VA.
Jocelyn Lampert was recently honored at the FABA annual Presidents Ball with the 2007 Outstanding Committee Chairman Award. Ms. Lampert is in her second year of serving as the Chairman of the Legislative Committee for the Fredericksburg Area Builder’s Association and has been with the Committee since 1998. She is employed by The Engineering Groupe, Inc. as the Corporate Services Administrator where she is responsible for Quality Control Review, maintaining CADD standards and overseeing internal education and training programs.

Timmons Group has announced the following staff additions:
Bobby Hester has joined the firm as Engineering Manager for the Hampton Roads Office. Mr. Hester comes from Kotarides Developers where he was Land Development Manager. He received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Old Dominion University and an Associates degree in Drafting and Design from J. Sergeant Reynolds College.
Billy Walter has joined the firm as Project Engineer III with the Residential group. Mr. Walter comes from Koontz-Bryant where he was Project Engineer and managed a variety of projects. He received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech.
Stephen Edwards has joined the firm as Designer with the Residential group. Mr. Edwards was with Koontz-Bryant where he worked for nine years as Civil Engineer Designer.
Sam Irby has joined Timmons as a Project Engineer I in the Tri-Cities office. Mr. Irby received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech.
Andy Peterson has joined the firm as Project Engineer I with the Residential sector. He received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech.
David Grandfield has joined the firm as Project Engineer I with the Commercial group in the Site Development sector. Mr. Grandfield received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University.
Ben Jackson has also joined the firm as Project Engineer I with the Commercial group in the Site Development sector. Mr. Jackson received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech.
Michael Patey has joined the firm as Senior Project Manager in the Public Safety group of Site Development sector. Mr. Patey comes from VA Timberline, LLC where he was Engineering & Construction Supervisor. He received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and M.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Miami.
Mitul Patel has joined the firm as Project Engineer III with the Water/Wastewater group. Mr. Patel received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda, India and his M.S. degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Central Florida.
Jesse Jones has joined the firm as Project Engineer II with the Public Safety group in the Site Development sector. Mr. Jones comes from Vollmer Associates where he worked as Designer. He received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Old Dominion University.
Jennifer DeVaughn has joined the firm as Project Engineer III with the Transportation Group. Ms. DeVaughn comes from Wilber Smith where she was a Transportation Analyst for five years. She received her B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech.
Chris Clark has joined the firm as Project Manager with the Residential sector. Mr. Clark received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech.
Robert Nichols has joined the firm as a CADD Technician with the Site Development sector.
Herbie Withers has joined the firm as a CADD Technician with the Transportation group. Mr. Withers comes from Michael Baker Jr. Inc. where he was CADD Technician III for nearly five years. He has an Associate degree in Architecture and Civil Engineering.
Rebecca Draucker has joined the firm as Project Manager with the Environmental group. Ms. Draucker received her B.S. degree in Biological Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech.

Paula M. Fleckenstein, CPA; Mark A. Dyck, CLA; and Wayne E. Foard were all recently named as Principals of William H. Gordon Associates, Inc.
Ms. Fleckenstein joined the firm in 2002 as Chief Financial Officer. As Director of Shared Services, she will be responsible for corporate functions including Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology and Marketing. A graduate of the University of Maryland’s College of Business and Management, her 20 years of experience includes serving as CFO for a $65M professional services firm.
Mr. Dyck currently serves as the Director of WHGA’s Charles Town, West Virginia office. He graduated from the University of Manitoba (Canada) in 1991 with a B.E.S. degree in Environmental Studies, and has over 15 years of experience in master planning, urban design, and landscape architecture.
Mr. Foard has provided valuable management and survey experience to the WHGA survey division since joining the firm in 1987. His 30+ years of experience incorporates all aspects of land surveying. As Director of Field Survey in the Chantilly office, he has provided exemplary survey consulting services to a multitude of public and private sector clients in the DC Metropolitan and Mid-Atlantic areas.

Draper Aden Associates, an engineering, survey and environmental services firm, is pleased to announce that Randolph P. Rivinus, P.E. has joined the staff as Team Leader of Site Planning and Engineering in the firm’s Richmond office. A graduate of Virginia Tech, Mr. Rivinus brings over 35 years of experience in civil engineering and project management.

Dewberry has named Peter Marshall, P.E. as client service corporate coordinator for Navy programs. Located in the Norfolk, Va., project office, Mr. Marshall will be responsible for all aspects of Dewberry’s interaction and product delivery to the U.S. Navy. He has more than 38 years of experience in design, construction and facilities management. He has extensive experience in project management and engineering, as well as project development and operations expertise. His background includes 32 years of experience with the U.S. Navy, where he held multiple positions of increasing responsibility with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, ultimately retiring as a Rear Admiral. A Fellow in the Society of American Military Engineers, Mr. Marshall earned his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Tufts University and his M.S. degree in Ocean Engineering from the University of Rhode Island.

Wiley & Wilson, Inc. is pleased to announce the following additions to the firm’s professional staff:
Thomas Blythe, P.E. joined the firm’s Structural Engineering Department as a Senior Engineer. Mr. Blythe’s duties will include heavy industrial structural design. He received a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering Technology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Andrew G. M. Blysak, AIA, LEED® AP joined the firm as a Senior Architect/Architectural Department Manager. He brings with him a strong history of leading project teams in the successful execution of projects in the public and private sectors. He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University.
Jacqueline D. Falwell has joined the firm as a Recruitment and Training Coordinator. Ms. Falwell received a B.A. degree from James Madison University and a MBA degree with a concentration in Human Resources from Virginia Tech.
Abby J. Thornbury joined the firm’s Civil Process/Treatment Group as an Assistant Engineer. Her duties include the design of water and wastewater treatment systems for municipal and industrial clients. Ms. Thornbury attended Penn State University where she received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Terrell G. Wooldridge joined the firm’s Electrical Engineering Department as a Design Engineer. His duties will include the preparation of electrical design documents for local government and industrial clients. He received a B.S. degree in Electronics Technology from Virginia State University.

Janice Buchko has been named an associate at Vollmer Associates. Ms. Buchko is the regional manager of the Virginia/West Virginia Region and has over 33 years of experience in all aspects of financial and administrative support.

Bowman Consulting is pleased to announce the promotion of Wayne Aubertin, L.S. to director of surveys of its Rockville office. Mr. Aubertin joined Bowman Consulting in 2004 and recently received his surveying license from the State of Maryland. As director of surveys, he will be responsible for various operational aspects; including client satisfaction, project delivery, quality control and financial performance.

Baskervill reports the following promotions:
Samuel M. Carmack is now the firm’s director of engineering; Charles E. Ayers III is the new HVAC department manager; Thomas Farleigh is now the electrical department manager; and E. Randy Lowry Jr. is the new plumbing and fire protection department manager at the firm.

Matthew Lillis is now a registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He is with Balzer and Associates Inc.

Barbara Kunz brings more than 20 years of experience to her position as Vice President, Strategic Planning and Business Development for Battelle Science and Technology International (BSTI), the largest wing of Battelle’s operations. Ms. Kunz most recently served as Senior Vice President and General Manager at Fisher Biosciences, where she was responsible for setting and executing the vision for Fisher Scientific International’s suite of proprietary chemistry-related products and services.

Marshall Miller & Associates (MM&A) is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Laurance A. Beck, P.E., P.G., Senior Engineering Manager to its Camp Hill, Pennsylvania staff. Dr. Beck has more than 35 years experience with mining engineering projects across the US and Latin America in aggregate and coal mining projects. Dr. Beck also has extensive experience with roadway construction projects in Pennsylvania. He served as an officer in the US Army Reserve with duty in the Army Corps of Engineers for nearly 30 years. He received his doctorate from Penn State University, and was previously a manager at Skelly and Loy.
Marshall Miller & Associates has also announced the addition of William Dickey, P.E., Vice President – Civil & Structural Engineering. Mr. Dickey will be located in MM&A’s Beckley, WV offices and will be in charge of regional civil engineering operations. Mr. Dickey has over forty years experience in structural, transportation, and general civil engineering experience.

The Builders’ Exchange Association of Virginia is pleased to announce their new slate of officers. Charles L. Williams with Butler, Williams & Skilling will be serving as the association’s new president. Serving with him will be W. Scott Brannan of F. Richard Wilton Jr. Inc. as first vice president; Joseph W. Crockett of Waco Inc. as second vice president; and Robert W. Garland of Taylor & Parrish Inc. will serve as the association’s new treasurer.
