Helman A. Castro, P.E., DPE, recently joined the Chantilly office staff of Patton Harris Rust & Associates, pc as a Senior Project Manager in their Civil Engineering Department. Mr. Castro will bring nearly 20 years of experience to the firm. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Virginia and Maryland, and is a Designated Plans Examiner for Fairfax County. Mr. Castro is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and of Chi-Epsilon National Civil Engineering Honor Society. He earned his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and has performed graduate work in Engineering Management at George Washington University.

Gregory C. Ellen, P.E., a structural engineer with the Richmond office of Dunbar, Milby, Williams, Pittman & Vaughan, has recently taken and passed the Professional Engineer’s examination and has become a Registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Mr. Ellen is currently providing the structural design for the new Performing Arts Center in Richmond.
Aaron J. Rickel, E.I.T., has recently joined the Dunbar, Milby, Williams, Pittman & Vaughan staff in the firm’s Richmond office. He recently received his B.S.C.E. from Virginia Military Institute and his M.S.C.E. from North Carolina State University. Mr. Rickel is currently providing the structural design for a new 2-story addition to Massaponax High School in Spotsylvania County.
Jeffrey M. Greenmun, E.I.T., and Marcin J. Kotas have recently joined the staff in Dunbar, Milby, Williams, Pittman & Vaughan’s Charlottesville office. Mr. Greenmun was previously associated with Froehling & Robertson, Inc. In his new position, he is providing the structural design for the new Venable Court Apartments. Mr. Kotas was previously associated with Louisa Engineering. In his new position he is providing the structural design for the Kappa Sigma Headquarters. Both projects are located in the Charlottesville area.

Anderson and Associates would like to extend its congratulations to several of its staff members on their recent promotions and anniversaries. Mark Boyd, formerly a drafter in the Blacksburg office has been promoted to the position of Design Technician. Paula Moore, formerly Assistant Project Manager in the Blacksburg office has been promoted to the position of Project Manager. Kelly Henshaw, formerly a Project Engineer in the firm’s Middletown office has been promoted to the position of Assistant Project Manager. Jacob Craig, Billy Cooper, Kevin Viars, James Vokoun, and Jon Whetzel all are congratulated on becoming Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Inspectors.
Mark Clark, Blacksburg Party Chief, is celebrating his 10 year anniversary with A&A, while Paul Grimes, Blacksburg Chief Inspector, is celebrating his 30 year anniversary with the firm.

Lisa Goodwin has recently joined the Middletown office as a Survey Technician; Emily Kowalchuk has joined the Blacksburg office as a Project Engineer; Brandon Matusevich has also joined the Blacksburg office staff as an Intern; Patrick Sewell has recently joined the staff in the Tri Cities office as an Office Aide; Jason Shelton has joined the Blacksburg office as a GIS Technician; Michelle Shropshire has joined the Fredericksburg office as a Project Manager; Erik Smydra has joined the staff in the Greensboro, NC office as a Party Chief and Jeffrey Wiegand has joined the Blacksburg office as a Survey Technician.

Timmons Group is pleased to announce that Blake Hall, Associate ASLA, has been accredited as a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Professional. Mr. Hall is a Project Engineer for Timmons Group’s Education Group within the site development sector and is the second staff member within the firm to receive LEED 2.0 accreditation. He has a B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture from Virginia Tech and has been with the firm for one year.

Monte J. Moreschi, P.E., a Project Engineer for Koontz-Bryant, P.C. recently became a LEED accredited professional. Developed by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System is a national consensus-based, market-driven building rating system designed to accelerate the development and implementation of green building practices. In short, it is a leading-edge system for designing, constructing and certifying the world’s greenest and best buildings.

Resource International Ltd., a Consulting and Engineering firm located in Ashland, VA, has recently announced these additions to their Corporate Office: Hank Alden has recenly joined the firm as a landscape architect in the Land Planning Studio. He graduated from the University of Georgia and in his new position will be responsible for conceptual renderings, planting plans, and plan layout.
Nicole Campbell has also recenly joined the Land Planning Studio. She is a CADD technician and has experience with fire and mechanical engineering drafting. In her new position Ms. Campbell will focus primarily on drafting planning layouts and mapping.
Donald E. Bailey, III, E.I.T., is a new addition to Land Development Engineering department. He is a graduate of West Virginia University Institute of Technology. In his new position as a Staff Engineer, he will primarlily be working with clients for site grading, utility layouts, and permitting issues for commercial and residential projects.
Amy K. Seipp, E.I.T., of WW Associates, a Civil/Environmental engineering and surveying firm that has been established to provide professional engineering and surveying services to a wide spectrum of clients, has been promoted to the position of Assistant Project Manager. Ms. Seipp graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. She has extensive experience in large and small scale site development, subdivision design, evaluation and design of utility projects including sanitary sewers and force mains, water supply systems, and stormwater management. Ms. Seipp also has design experience in soil erosion control planning, and cost estimating. She will be seeking her professional engineering registration in October.
David M. Jensen, P.E., has recently joined the staff at WW Associates and has been named Manager of the Charlottesville, VA operations. Mr. Jensen holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Virginia Military Institute, and a M.S. degree in Environmental Engineering from Virginia Tech. He was most recently associated with Vika, Inc., a Northern Virginia consulting firm. He has 29 years experience in planning, research, design, project management, and construction of numerous water, wastewater, and industrial wastewater treatment facilities. His experience also includes water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, design of secondary, primary and arterial highways, commercial redevelopment and rehabilitation projects.
Earl W. Mottley, L.S., has been named Survey Manager of WW Associates, Charlottesville, VA operations. Mr. Mottley has extensive experience in site engineering projects as well as in courthouse research for property line data used in boundary surveys and easement plats. His experience also includes utility route surveys, highway route surveys, boundary surveys, as well as construction stakeout projects. He is proficient with the use of electronic total stations, data collectors, TDS software, and AutoCAD application.
Herbert F. White, P.E., President of WW Associates, with offices in Lynchburg and Charlottesville, VA, recently participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the new $13.5 million Rapidan Wastewater Collection and Treatment system with the Greene County Board of Supervisors in Ruckersville, VA. This project has been designed by WW Associates for Greene County to support future commercial and residential growth in the Ruckersville area. WW Associates is also providing construction administration and inspection services for this project.
James P. Campbell, P.E., a Project Engineer with WW Associates in Lynchburg, VA, recently passed the Professional Engineer Examination and is now licensed to practice engineering in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Mr. Campbell is a 1999 graduate from Virginia Military Institute with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. He has assisted in the design of various water and wastewater treatment plant projects as well as utility projects. Mr. Campbell also has experience in the preparation of feasibility studies, preliminary engineering reports and economic analyses, and performing construction administration services.
J.P. Morris, P.E., previously employed by the Virginia Department of Transportation – Bedford Residency, has joined WW Associates in Lynchburg, VA as a Project Engineer. A licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Mr. Morris is a 1999 graduate from Virginia Military Institute with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. He has assisted in the design and construction of numerous state highway improvement projects as well as the construction surveying associated with industrial and commercial site development, wastewater and water treatment plant projects. He has experience in the preparation of highway alignment and grade plans, erosion and sediment control plans, construction estimates, review of site plans and performing construction contract administration and inspection management.
Eric F. Anderson, E.I.T., has been named as a Project Engineer with WW Associates assigned to the Civil Engineering Department. Mr. Anderson received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Virginia in Civil Engineering. He is knowledgeable in AutoCAD and has had thorough training and experience in the Microsoft Office suite and ArcGIS. In addition, he has project experience in the design and layout of commercial and residential developments including gravity storm sewers, water lines, stormwater management facilities, and sanitary sewer interceptors.
Johnson P. Daly, A.A.S., has been named as a Senior CAD Designer with WW Associates assigned to the firm’s Civil Engineering Department. Mr. Daly is a graduate of I.T.T. Technical Institute located in Austin, TX. He has significant experience in site planning and design and erosion and sediment control design using both AutoCAD and Civil Design software.

Wiley & Wilson, Inc. is pleased to announce that E. Thomas Hammock, Jr., P.E. recently completed the requirements for Professional Engineering registration in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Mr. Hammock holds an A.A.S. degree in Engineering Technology from Central Virginia Community College and a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Old Dominion University. As a member of the firm’s Civil Engineering Department, he focuses on civil infrastructure design of municipal projects.

Draper Aden Associates has recently announced that Lance J. Koth, P.E. has joined the staff as Project Manager for Site Planning and Engineering in their Richmond office. Mr. Koth has 15 years of land development experience working with architects, municipalities and developers throughout Virginia and into North Carolina. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and holds a Professional Engineering license in both Virginia and North Carolina.

Mark E. Leeman, P.E. was recently named Associate of Facility Engineering Associates, P.C. (FEA). Prior to joining FEA in 2003, he joined FEA from Atlanta, GA, where he served as a Principal Engineer for MACTEC Engineering and Consulting. Mr. Leeman earned both his Master and Bachelor of Science degrees from Purdue University, and is active in the American Concrete Institute and the American Society of Civil Engineering.

Robert P. Kerr, announces the expansion and relocation of Kerr Environmental Services Corp to 1008 Old Virginia Beach Road, Suite 200 in Virginia Beach, VA, effective September 1, 2004. Mr. Kerr is the President and has over 15 years experience in the field of natural resources consulting.

Roy Bolton II of Madison, Maine, an equipment operator and maintenance trainer for Cianbro Corporation, was recently honored for 25 years of service. Mr. Bolton’s career with Cianbro began in 1979 working as a crane operator on a bridge project in Chesapeake, VA. He originally hails from Virginia Beach, VA. Mr. Bolton’s most recent assignment is with Cianbro’s equipment group where he is an equipment operator and maintenance trainer. He is an Accredited Practical Examiner with the National Commission for Certification of Crane Operators and certified operator in all four classes of cranes.
