2005 WEPAN Award Presented

May 31, 2005

Women in Engineering Programs and Advocates Network (WEPAN) has named Hewlett – Packard (HP) as the winner of its 2005 Breakthrough Award for “creating a work environment that enhances the career success of women engineers of all ethnicities.”

WEPAN’s Breakthrough Award signifies the ability of an employer to “break through” the artificial barriers that, in many instances, tend to prevent women engineers of all ethnicities from attaining their full potential.

In selecting HP, the WEPAN Breakthrough Award judges used three criteria:
• Being a catalyst for change that enhances the success of women engineers of all ethnicities;
• Women engineers of all ethnicities are employed at many levels in the organization; and
• Evidence of written policies or established practices that facilitate the full participation and career advancement of women of all ethnicities in engineering.
