ASSE Funds New Construction Safety Scholarship

May 20, 2004

The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) recently announced that it will fund a new construction safety scholarship for students, through the ASSE Foundation. The funds will be raised from royalties of the newly published book “Construction Safety Management and Engineering,” written by members of ASSE and other leading experts in the construction safety field. The new book serves as a construction safety tool and reference text for safety practitioners, project engineers, workers and also students entering the profession. Royalties from the book will support the new scholarship for students pursuing a degree in occupational safety and health, with an emphasis in construction. Funding for the Foundation comes from corporations and voluntary donations from ASSE members – individual and through chapters countrywide for applied safety research, scholarships, fellowships, internships and professional development.
