Board Approves Road Work Contract

The Commonwealth Transportation Board has approved an $18.7 million contract with Mega Contractors Inc., located in Richmond, VA, for highway maintenance work to be done in central Virginia. The contract call for maintenance work, patching and resurfacing, to be done on sections of I-64 between Laburnum Avenue in Henrico County and the New Kent County line. The contract also provides authorization for the installation of shoulder stone, rumble strips, upgraded guardrail as well as pavement markings. The project is expected to be completed in May 2007.
