Call For Comments

July 20, 2004

The Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI) of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is calling for public comment on its Standard Practices for the Design and Operation of Supercooled Fog Dispersal Projects and for Standard Practice for the Measurement of Oxygen Transfer Rate in Clean Water. The ASCE will conduct a ballot period on the proposed revisions from August 1 to September 15, 2004.

The fog dispersal standard identifies the minimum design and operation requirements for supercooled fog dispersal and provides a blueprint for planning and evaluating such projects. The transfer rate standard provides a blueprint for conducting measurements of the oxygen transfer rate in clean water. The public comment period is one of the final stages of ASCE’s consensus standards development process. EWRI standards committee will review and address all comments submitted through the public ballot.

To obtain a copy of the public comment forms and draft of the standards, send a written request accompanied by a $10 check or money order (per form) made payable to EWRI, to the attention of Autumn Richter, EWRI Administrator, EWRI/ASCE, 1801 Alexander Bell Drive, Reston, VA 20191-4400. EWRI does not accept facsimile requests.
