Clark•Nexsen Selected For Renovations

February 22, 2005

Clark•Nexsen, an award-winning architecture, engineering, and interior design firm, is pleased to announce that the firm has been selected to provide services for the renovations to the Suffolk Municipal Center.

The project’s scope of work involves the renovation of approximately 7,600 SF of the City Manager’s Suite on the second floor of the Municipal Center in downtown Suffolk, VA. The new suite will have offices and support spaces for the City Manager, Assistant City Manager’s, Management Analysts, Clerk, Deputy Clerk, the Mayor, and Secretarial/Reception staff for the aforementioned. Interviews with various staff members were conducted which uncovered a host of space utilization, workflow, and other operational deficiency issues. The new design resolves those issues and also creates an aesthetic identity for the suite, provides space for future staff, and incorporates improvements that will benefit other City Departments located in the Municipal Center. Architectural and Interior Design solutions will include new finishes, fixtures, and furniture as desired. In addition, new mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems will be re-evaluated and/or re-designed to support the new layout requirements and requests.
