Designers Receive 3rd Place Honors

December 28, 2004

MMM Design Group congratulates Brian Turner, EIT, LEED AP and Greg Simon, who received 3rd place in the U.S. Green Building Council 2004 Design Competition, for their design of a symbiotic relationship among a building, garage, and park.

During weeks of design collaboration and research, Turner and Simon created their “Lets Plant a Seed” project, where each structure would live off of the other and become more adaptable over time. The design, which was judged among 11 other contestants’ designs at the USGBC International Conference and Expo, promotes the Council’s key initiative, which is the promotion of “environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work.”

Turner and Simon will receive free admission to the USGBC 2005 International Conference and Expo in Atlanta, GA, as well as a free one-year subscription to the BuildingGreen Suite. The Suite includes monthly issues of Environmental Building News (EBN) and access to the full archive of over 1,800 green building products and a case studies database with over 90 high performance buildings.

MMM is proud of Turner and Simon’s efforts and looks forward to continuing the firm’s involvement in this industry initiative.
