April 17, 2006

The new “PowerTV” internet-protocol television (IPTV) network of Chantilly-based Communication Technologies, Inc. (COMTek) will be used on April 21, 2006 by the Earth Day Network to broadcast a two-way video/chat presentation on global warming to 16,000 science classrooms across the United States. This massive, interactive undertaking is believed to be single biggest simultaneous application of two-way IPTV technology ever attempted.

COMTek will hold a live, phone-based news conference (with full Q&A) at 1:30 p.m. ET on April 18, 2006 to preview the Earth Day Network/COMTek project.

A preview of portions of the COMTek IPTV broadcast on the PowerTV network will be available via advance arrangements through Ailis Aaron, (703) 276-3265, or aaaron@hastingsgroup.com. Full details on the two panels featuring global warming experts is available upon request.
