Eastern U.S. Seismic Seminar Scheduled

Virginia Geotechnical Services, P.C. and Virginia Structural Engineers Council invite you to attend The Eastern U.S. Seismic Seminar April 27 and 28, 2006 at the Wyndham Richmond Airport.

This seminar has been developed to meet the current needs of the geotechnical and structural engineering industries by bringing a “high-powered” educational experience to public and private practitioners, as well as owners and code officials. Day 1 (Focus for Geotechnical and Structural Engineers) will be led by James R. Martin II, PhD, Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Director of the World Institute of Disaster Risk Management at Virginia Tech (DRM-VT) in Blacksburg, VA. He also serves as Associate Director of the Center for Extreme Load Effects on Structures (CELES). Day 2 (Focus for Structural Engineers) will be led by Finley A. Charney, PhD, PE, an Associate Professor in the Charles E. Via Jr. Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Director of the CELES at VA Tech. He is also President of Advanced Structural Concepts Inc., located in Blacksburg, VA.
